As a lifelong Salinas resident, I have proudly represented District 3 on the Salinas City Council for almost eight years. 

During my two terms of service, major accomplishments have included:

• Increasing the police force and reducing violent crime by over 60%
  
  
• Creating the Monterey County/Salinas Gang Task Force
  
  
• Building a new fire station and hiring new firefighters
  
  
• Completing major library renovations
  
  
• Repaving 90% of our city streets
  
  
• Approving a downtown multi-screen theater and
  first class hotel/condominium complex
  
  
• Increasing code enforcement, and adding more traffic patrol
  
  
• Collaborating with school districts, and non-profits, to promote afterschool activities
   
• Building a skateboard park, soccer fields, golf course, and animal shelter
  
  
• Supporting a Senior Center plan
   
• Supporting the California Rodeo Association's Sports Complex and the Boys' and Girls' Club facility
